Edit Google Snippet

We have already taken steps to make the website search engine friendly and improve the site ranking, but there are a whole host of other things you can do! At the bottom of every page in the admin area you will find the Yoast Meta Box which is where you can alter the Google Snippet to help improve how the page is referenced and indexed.

We would recommend that you do edit the Google Snippet for every page of the site, including the individual Store pages. The only exceptions are the Tenant Portal pages which have already been configured to not be indexed by search engines.

This article goes into depth explaining everything you need to know about the Google Snippet and how to edit it.

Please note the Slug (the URL) currently contains the site IP and the folder structure. When the site is live this will no longer be the case and it will show your domain name, so there is no need to alter these parts of the slug with the exception of the page title.

For general information about the SEO Meta Box, check out this video. Please note there have been some changes to the Meta Box since this video was produced, but the majority of it will still be very useful.

Edit Focus Keyword

Another key item in the Yoast Meta Box is the focus keyword. This is the search term you want to be found with in search engines. When you set a focus keyword, you will get a realtime check on your content to see if you use the keyword often enough and in the correct areas. Optimizing your content for this term will help you rank higher for this keyword in the search results.

We would recommend that you set the keyword for every page, including the individual Store pages with the exception of the Tenant Portal pages.

Edit Facebook Share

Yoast also makes it easy to edit the Facebook Share for each page. The Facebook Share is info that is automatically shared, when website visitors share the page to Facebook. The three pieces of information that are shared are the Title, Description and Image. Btw. We have set up your property logo to be used as the graphic for each page, unless you choose a new image.

To access the Facebook page within the Yoast Meta Box, click on the share icon shown in the image below. Once there fill in the Facebook Title, Description and choose an image to represent the page.

Edit Twitter Share

To access the Twitter page within the Yoast Meta Box, click on the share icon shown in the image below and then click the Twitter tab. Once there fill in the Twitter Title, Description and choose an image to represent the page.
